With WordPress 5.8 released in summer 2021, the foundation was laid for Full Site Editing with the new template editor and ability to use blocks to manage widgets.
And while WordPress users have been hearing a lot about Full Site Editing over the past few months, many are asking the question:
What does Full Site Editing mean?
As Ellen Bauer explains in What is WordPress Full Site Editing (FSE), it’s not one specific feature.

Themes will be block themes: a collection of blocks, block patterns, and templates pre-designed in the block editor.
